If you watched Veere Di Wedding and sat amazed by the accessories used by the leading stars, you are probably thinking that those statement pieces are out of reach. Turns out, Chennai fashionistas now get to pick their own piece as Birdhichand Ghansyamdas, the official jewellery partner of the movie will be one among 45 designers who are coming down to the city for the Autumn/Festive edition of Arti Bagdy Fashion Collezione (ABFC).  


Wedding jewellers meet trousseau experts at this specially curated event, which has been happening for the past 14 years.   “We bring the best of fashion here, before it hits the stores,” says Arti Bagdy, city-based fashion curator whose done about 75 such exhibitions till date. “Besides getting a first-hand preview of the season’s top trends, you will also get to meet the designers, discuss what you like and even  customise orders.”  Showcasing an Autumn/Winter collection, Divya Sahai Agarwal of Delhi-based brand Petticoat Lane says that her Indo-western line will include breezy pyjamas, capes and flowy jackets. “The collection mostly comprises floral prints in pastel blue, pink and yellow. The whole line has a botanical vibe,” shares Divya, who is in the city for the third time. 


Additionally, you will also find brands like Abhijeet Khanna, Handspun by Neetika Swarup and Corrals by Shikha. While the jewellery and accessories section will see Mumbai-based Ghana Jewellers with their emerald collection, Jaipur-based Jewel Saga with their French enamel collection and Hyderabad-based Akoya by Anukriti with their Indian heritage jewellery. “Uncut diamond jewellery is our forté  and people in the South appreciate it since it’s not easily available here,” says Vaibhav Agrawal, MD of Birdhichand Ghansyamdas, adding that their second collection titled Banaras, has meenakari jewellery in colours like pink, blue, ivory, turquoise, etc. Other highlights of the exhibition  include personalised clutches and jeweled scarves by Kolkata-based Born 2 Flaaunt and Mumbai-based House of BIO, by Ritti Khanna.
