Drenched in rich pastels like soft pink and peach, and luxurious mukaish embroidery from Uttar Pradesh, Jaipur-based designer label Faabiiana’s new wedding collection, Summer Bride, is opulent and regal. Designer  Kusum  Luharuwalla started the brand in 2010, after which her daughter Karishma Luharuwalla joined her. Today, they have styled and dressed several celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Kriti Sanon and Sagarika Ghatge, among others.

“I belong to a typical Marwadi family, in Jaipur. So growing up, I was around a lot of heavily embroidered clothes that had a touch of royalty,” says Karishma. The label’s designs are aesthetic with regal craftsmanship from Rajasthan, amalgamated with contemporary silhouettes, which Karishma feels is one-of-a-kind. When it comes to fabrics, the duo work with a lot of fabrics from Lucknow, organza, net and Habutai silk (basic plain silk which translates to feather-two-layer in Japanese). “Our new collection is young, elusive, fresh and really good for summers,” says the 28-year-old.  “We have used muted florals with rich-looking borders, and it redefines the saying that luxury lies in the details.”

From jackets over drapes, peplum saris to stunning lehengas, Faabiiana has everything. They also have Jaipur’s traditional gotta patti mixed with sequins, dori work and zardozi, making the collection elegant, yet timeless. The colour palette ranges from a hue of pistachio green, soft pink, soft peach, ice blue, strawberry shades — all representing the magical summer wedding.  They are currently working on their Autumn Festive collection next.
