Now you don’t have to wait for a visit to the States or Europe to get exotic vegetables and meat to your kitchen. City-based gourmet store Pangea has it all. Claiming to be the first and only store in Hyderabad to bring you natural products from across the globe, this outlet has been the talk of the town ever since its opened. And why not? Pangea offers as many as 2,300 products under one roof.

Some of the fast-selling ones include salmon from the Atlantic and Périgord black truffles from Italy. “In my own group of friends in Hyderabad, I observed that many asked their close ones living abroad to send them a particular exotic product that wasn’t available in the country. With Pangea, we wanted to provide a one-stop destination for them,” says Sheshank Kumar, who co-owns the brand with his brother Sharukh Kumar.

Among the long list of exotic products, one can expect avocados from Chile, blueberries from Peru and Carolina Reaper (spiciest chilli) from the US. That apart, the store also features Boeren Truffle Cheese from Holland, turkey and pork cold cuts from Spain, energy bars including White Chocolate Snicker and a dedicated Keto store. “Our meat is mostly imported from Spain where everything from the feed to the life cycle is monitored, ensuring we have the best quality. We sell sausages, cured meats, fatless-saltless turkey breast and other traditional European recipes as well. Even for cheese, we work directly with the growers, so we can assure the best quality and store it in the top-end cold chains to ensure the authenticity,” informs Sheshank, who also set up Cafe Aura and Edge (fine-dining restaurant) in the same building.

What sets Pangea and its restaurants apart is the quality of both the products available, and the outlet itself. The highly-trained staff take sanitary precautions that help keep the products fresh for longer. With Edge, the brother duo wants to ‘enable a culinary experience’ for their customers. “We want people to understand our products better in a food setting. Our in-house chef takes special care in talking to them about the products in each dish cooked in our kitchens, which are also available in the store,” he adds.
