This joint serves up a full meal—entree and dessert included—all night!

Night Out promises to fix those midnight cravings with offerings like chicken steak, broccoli tikka and even dessert, right at your doorstep

Vishnu Prabhu Raja has a secret to keep. Despite being the owner of one of the most followed eateries in the city—with over 23,000 followers on Facebook—the location of Night Out still remains a mystery. Though we did get a full tour of this food delivery joint, which is located in a bylane on one of the busiest areas in the city, RS Puram, the only thing you need to know is that this place serves up a full meal—entree and dessert included—all night.

Meat your maker

Their a la carte menu which includes a choice of soups, starters, tandoori and grilled goodies comes with a special health conscious section (low carbs and high protein) if you are looking to honour your diet. “We offer people exactly what they are looking for as part of their late night fix—a proper meal. Not your run-of-the mill idli and dosa or the ubiquitous midnight snack that is Maggi,” he says, with a laugh. One of the only two all-night food services in the city, you would assume that the cafe experiences a surge in orders post 11 pm. However, the 24-year old entrepreneur tells us that most of the take-out requests come in between 7 pm to 11 pm. As we dig into an assorted plate of tandoori, malai and hariyali chicken, we realise why. Besides being perfectly spiced, the meat is juicy and full of flavour, with a hint of smokiness from the tandoor and melts in your mouth. Almost as good as grilled specials from the restaurants of star hotels, and with the added advantage of competitive pricing. Though the spicier of the three—the tandoori chicken—is a customer favourite, we recommend you try the malai version, which is an absolute stand out.

Easy pickings

For a quick bite, try the chicken roll that has a mildly spicy stuffing which is offset by a hint of sweet from the coloured bell peppers. If you are looking to try something continental, then the penne pesto pasta topped off with mushrooms and cheese is your best pick for a stand-alone meal. For Southern flavours, Vishnu suggests the thayir sadam (curd rice) which comes in two varieties—topped with small onion or fruits—with a side of the spiciest item on the menu, the Chicken Gunpowder. “I have not tried it myself because of the spice level, but it is one of the fastest moving items on the menu besides the Tawa fish and Broccoli Tikka,” he admits.

Frozen fantasies

Packed in areca leaf containers and then sealed, this eight-month-old joint is also making sure to do their bit to reduce their carbon-footprint. But the absolute ingenuity in their packaging shines through in the way that they deliver their ice creams. While the dessert is served in a conventional plastic bowl (recyclable), it is then placed into a bigger container which is topped off half way with ice cubes and then sealed, ensuring your dessert remains frozen. Delivery across the city.

Rs 100 upwards. Open from 7 pm to 4 am. Details: 7397704268
