It's a cold afternoon in Bengaluru. Imagine that a plate of hot Malai Kukkad Ki Tikki (a variation of chicken tikka) is served on your table. The moment your teeth sink into the succulent chicken tikki you are transported to the yellow mustard fields in the pinds (villages) of Punjab. You break out of this reverie, only when the next dish, the fragrant Maa di Amritsari Makhanwali Dal, arrives. While it might seem like a far-fetched fantasy, Le Jardin at The Oberoi, will fulfill your dream at a special lunch promotion hosted by the renowned Chef Sweety Singh.

Harjinder Singh, popularly called Chef Sweety, is the man who has served some fantastic Punjabi dishes to the likes of Shahrukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Dharmendra, Yuvraj Singh and Dale Mehndi. A true-blue Punjabi whose dad used to run a dhaba, Sweety is known to serve authentic Punjabi dishes. "My style of Punjabi food takes inspiration from the pinds or villages than the commercial popular dishes we keep tasting in restaurants or dhabas. Please do not give this a miss, whether you are a Punjabi or not, you will keep licking your fingers once you try my dishes!" says the chef.

On the fixed-menu, the Chef has included options such as Lahori Tangdi Kebab, Bhatti Ka Meat, Ajwaini Macchi Ke Pakode, Paya Shorba, Palak aur Gucchi Ka Shorba, Saag Nalli Meat, Sarson De Saag, Daal Bhukra and others. For those with a sweet tooth, don't miss trying the Panjiri - a winter special dish. It's a mix of whole-wheat flour, fried in ghee with sugar and laced with dry fruits and herbs.

At Le Jardin, The Oberoi, MG Road. Rs 1375++. Till November 19. Details: 25585858
