Milkshake brand Tempteys brings out the mathematics nerd in you. Wondering how? The city-based brand measures each of its ingredients on a weighing machine at the counter and thus ensures the same flavour and consistency across all their outlets. With more than 25 options to choose from, Tempteys caters to the people with a sweet tooth.

We head to their week-old branch in Sindhi Colony on a Friday evening. On entering the outlet that shares space with another bakery chain (Just Bake), we find its decor to be simple with a seating for 15 people. However, it’s the shake-related doodles drawn across the wall and purple Tempteys balloons that adds colour. “Unlike other milkshake brands, we use gelato and yoghurt-based ice creams in our shakes,” informs Bhoom Reddy, who co-owns the franchise with Prashanth Bandaru. Customers can choose from the two bases and pair them up with other flavours — Oreo, Banana, Protein shakes, coffee and more.

Custard Maple
Custard Maple

We’re first served the Custard Maple — a mix of custard apple and gelato ice cream. This fruit-based shake has the perfect blend of ice cream with a generous amount of custard apple pulp. Another highlight of the brand is that they procure their ingredients from a 60-year-old company in Italy.

Krish Magapu, CEO of the brand, says, “Even if someone copies our recipe, they won’t get the same taste because we’re the Italian company’s exclusive customers.” If you’re not a person who enjoys a sugar rush, you can pick Blue Fall — a bright blue shake of mint, ice cream, whip cream and sprinkles.

Our favourite, however, is the Crunchy Almond Feast. Every sip of this shake contains a fusion of chunks of roasted almonds with chocolate sauce and choco chip toppings. As we finish off the Crunchy Almond Feast, we’re informed that the outlet will soon serve fries and wedges, along with mojito mocktails, iced tea and crushers.

Price for two: Rs.400. At Sindhi Colony.
