Bake a special cake this Republic Day

A patriotic bundt cake is just what one needs this weekend

It’s the first public holiday of the year. While many might be holidaying this long weekend, those who are at home watching the Republic Day parade on TV, could try their hand at baking. Chef Yash Mathur from Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, the person behind Whitefiled Baking Company pastry shop, gives us an interesting Tricolour Bundt Cake recipe. “It’s easy to play with colours on a cake like this that provides a good base,” says the chef. 

Ingredients
Flour 250 gms, Butter 210 gms, Eggs 4 nos., Sugar 210 gms, Baking powder 6 gms, Milk  38 gms, Vanilla essence 7 gms, Edible colours (orange and green) 10ml, Extract of orange - 1 fruit, Green apple syrup 20ml, For Butter Cream Butter 250 gms, Icing Sugar 200 gms

Method
Cream butter, castor sugar and sugar together
Add egg and cream till the mix becomes light
Add flour and baking powder to the above mix
At last, add the milk and edible colour in the batter and 
transfer the mix in the greased mould. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes
Cool the cake for sometime after taking the tray out of the oven
Cream butter and icing sugar till it becomes light and fluffy
Add in the edible colours with the extract of orange and the green apple syrup
Pipe the butter cream on top of the cake
