It’s a new group on Facebook. Its sole purpose is to make you feel good. At a time when most Internet users are actively trolling anyone and everyone, this group is attempting to bring about change. This group is a prelude to the campaign that will be launched on April 22 to mark the Interna-tional Mother Earth Day.
#MyBeliefiAmtheChange, a campaign by singer Hrishikesh Chury will go live on social media tomorrow. “It is a social initiative where we are requesting people not to criticise or just sit and complain about things not happening. We are trying to convince people to share their stories about their good deeds  with others,” says Hrishikesh.
Known faces like singers Shibani Kashyap, Luke Kenny, VJ and actor Ruby Bhatia and music director Vishal Dadlani have shared their personal stories through video clips on FB. The clips are posted on the Hallway Foundation page, the NGO that is run by Hrishikesh. “If one celeb talks about it, many others will follow,” he says, adding, “For Vishal, helping a victim at the accident spot has become a habit, now that’s his goodness and he has shared his story online.”
So far, over 5,000 members have joined #MyBeliefiAmtheChange. Members from across the country are posting their selfies with a short write-up about their good deeds. Something as simple as stopping the vehicle for pedestrians to cross the road or not throwing garbage on the streets — anything that’s done thoughtfully qualifies to be posted on the page.
“People are skeptical to talk about the good they do because they are afraid that others might mock them. We are trying to bring a positive change by providing a platform,” says Hrishikesh. The reason to launch it on International Earth Day, says Hrishikesh, is to give back to mother Earth. “It’s not just about the environment. Helping other humans too is part of giving back,” he signs off.
