The internet never ceases to amaze with its power to unite the world especially in the case of a Manipuri man, who has been reunited with his family after 40 years. A video of the man was uploaded on Youtube and happened to reach the right people to help him go back to Imphal.

The Youtube video was uploaded by fashion designer Firoz Shakir after he saw him singing an old Hindi song near Khomdram Gambhir Singh near Bandra railway station in Mumbai. According to several media reports, Firoz said Khomdram earned a living by doing odd jobs and singing on the streets.

Khomdram Singh's family was alerted after the Imphal West Students Club secretary Atom Samarendra approached them after they were alerted about it by user Aheibam Dinamani.

The Manipuri man had vanished from Imphal in 1978 and was traced to Mumbai in 2018 after the video was posted in 2017 by Shakir. Imphal Police contacted Bandra Police and sent a younger photo of Khomdram, who then located him at the railway station. The new photos were sent and Imphal Police approached the family who then confirmed it was him.

Khomdram Gambhir Singh will soon be united with his family after 40 years thanks to a video that circulated the internet to finally connect and make an inspiring story.
