You know what you have to do to help out. But if you’ve been overwhelmed with a flood of information — here’s a quick list of weekend fundraisers that combine recreation and goodwill, as well as dropzones curating relief measures in the city.
 

Express requirement
The New Indian Express’ readers, staff and a host of sponsors have been contributing food, clothing and sanitary napkins. Melodies & moolah
Attend a relief concert for Kerala by popular Chennai musicians. Organised by UNITEDbyWater, the event will raise funds to be solicited directly for the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund by Cheque or DD. This is a non-ticketed event, those interested can reach out and block their invite online. On September 1. At Madras Music Academy, 6.30 pm.

Altruism over avial
Novotel Chennai Chamiers Road is hosting an Onam lunch, which includes festive favourites such as pulissery, thoran and avial — curated by Chef Kalaiselvan. A part of the proceeds will go towards Bhoomika Trust in their efforts towards helping Kerala. August 25 for lunch. Rs 1,534 (inclusive of taxes).

Payasam & philanthropy
Gossip Bistro is serving a fundraiser lunch to contribute to victims of the Kerala flood today. Expect to feast on traditional delicacies that are a part of the onam sadhya as well as a non-veg meal with meat and seafood for those interested. August 24 for lunch. Rs 499 (for sadhya), Rs 600 (for non-veg ).
