Bengaluru student books Ola to North Korea for 1.4 lakh

21-year-old Bengaluru student Prashanth Shahi, on Sunday, was able to book an Ola cab to North Korea for an estimated cost of Rs. 1.4 lakh.

A technical glitch in Ola’s mobile app was the reason why he was able to book his trip, which triggered a trend on Twitter where several people were booking cabs to various far-off countries.

Prashanth Shahi, when he booked his ride, was allotted a driver under Ola’s outstation cabs category and even got a ride estimate of Rs 1.4 lakh based on the number of kilometers. The duration shown was a five-day round trip of around 13,840 kilometers.

Shahi shared the image on Twitter and it went viral.

"North Korea had been trending all over the news... I accidentally opened the Ola app instead of Google Maps to check North Korea's road connectivity to South Korea. There, I noticed was the option for booking a cab. I was surprised to see it possible myself," Prashanth told the media.

While Twitter was going berserk over this trends, Ola tweet saying, "When we said we wanted to shoot for the moon, we didn't literally mean it ;) However, while we fix this issue, you can always take a flight to another country :)"
