Recently renowned golfer Tiger Woods has caught himself amidst a major controversy as he was arrested on accounts of DUI. Here are some of the other major controversies to know about.
The 2009 infidelity scandal
It all started with Cadillac Escalade, a fire hydrant, and a tree just outside the golfer's driveway in Isleworth back in 2009. The controversy escalated to infidelity scandal and his so-called family man picture was poofed in thin air.
Sex addiction
Following the 2009 scandal, he publicly admitted to seeking treatment for sex addiction. While many appreciated his vocal nature, others trashed him saying it was just a move to repair his public image.
SUV crash in 2021
Tiger Woods in 2021 was involved in the major car crash. The golfer's SUV struck a sign in the center divider, hit a tree and came to rest off the roadway. Though it was purely an accident, the backlash was major.
Sexual assault cases
Tigers’ ex-gf, Erica Herman, had filed a lawsuit seeking to void a nondisclosure agreement she signed in 2017, citing allegations of sexual misconduct. Such NDAs can be challenged if they are linked to claims of sexual assault. Herman alleged that the incidents occurred on more than one occasion and sought $30 million in damages.
