Inviting the wrong crowd: While making the guest list, be sure that those you invite gel well with each other. A wrong crowd can kill the vibe and make it awkward.
Going low on food and drinks: Always get more food and drinks than you usually estimate. People mostly come for free food and alcohol and running low on them would not be a good idea.
No music plan: Music keeps the crowd vibrant and motivated. Assign a DJ if need be.
Don’t ignore space: Try to judge the number of people who can comfortably be accommodated in the space. Keep a few chairs and cushions but let people find their safe space and comfort zone themselves.
Be clear about ground rules: Avoid going haywire and complains with the party. Set rules like no plus ones or no loud noises etc.
Don’t do everything yourself: Doing everything yourself is exhausting. So, delegate work.
Not getting the light right: Settle for dim fairy lights- neither too bright, nor too dark.
Don’t forget the neighbours: Do enjoy, but keep the privacy of your neighbours in mind. Avoid very loud music or late night chatters.
No clean-up plan: Post party mess can be overwhelming. So, you can pre-book cleaners or have a proper plan in place.
Not making the guest comfortable: Always attend to smaller details like room temperature, fresh toiletries, food allergies etc.
