4 measures to take if you're a tourist and stuck in tsunami

Move to higher ground immediately

Don't wait for official announcements! If you are taking a bath in the sea and it starts shifting backwards all of a sudden, that's your signal. Run to higher ground and wait. Sometimes birds and animals too give you signal; don't overthink, listen!

Carry emergency kits and keep it handy

If you're travelling to earthquake and tsunami prone countries like Japan, Indonesia or Philippines, always carry an emergency kit and keep it handy. The kit should contain items like water, a flashlight, a power bank, basic first aid, and important documents in a waterproof pouch.

Avoid vehicles if roads are crowded

If there's too much crowd on road and the emergency vehicles are overcrowded, choose to rely on your foot. Every second counts and waiting for help will only get you closer to danger. So, run, walk or jog to higher grounds for safety.

Do not go sightseeing or take videos

Control your inner vlogger spirit and go run to safety. Taking videos and sharing it on socials is cool but will it be worth it if you're not really there to witness the virality of the clips? Staying in danger zones for photos or videos can be life-threatening.
