Life isn’t a support-system for art. It’s the other way around. Stephen King has proved this time and again. Now, the legendary horror and speculative fiction writer, who recently celebrated his 72nd birthday, is once again being lauded by legions of his fans on Twitter. This time, the month-long celebrations are for his latest book called The Institute.

This was released just before the sequel to the cult classic The Shining called Doctor Sleep.

What keeps hardcore fans of his work entertained since the ’70s is the fact that there are many hidden connections in the Stephen King Universe that tie his works together. Some times, it's a reference to an event in one book. But then, there are bizarre occurrences in certain works due to aftershocks from previous titles. Mr Mercedes is the most recent and popular example.

This year alone, over four of his titles have seen adaptations on the big screen and streaming platforms. Now, King is waiting for Doctor Sleep, which stars Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson—which will release in India in November.

"Doctor Sleep" takes forward the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his stay at the Overlook Hotel in "The Shining". It is directed by Mike Flanagan (of Occulus fame), from his own screenplay based upon the novel by King. Warner Bros will release the film in India on November 8.

"Doctor Sleep" begins as Torrance carries the trauma of the Overlook Hotel into adulthood. He meets Abra, a teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the "shine", and narrates his attempt to protect her from 'Rose the Hat', who feeds off the shine of innocents in her quest for immortality.

Kyliegh Curran will be seen in the role of Abra. It also stars Carl Lumbly, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Bruce Greenwood, Jocelin Donahue, Alex Essoe and Cliff Curtis. The music score is composed by The Newton Brothers.
