Bengaluru was once a music hub, but now it is becoming notorious for attacks on performers. Bullies are at it again, as a band was beaten up at a mall, where they were performing, for not singing in Kannada. Musication, a Bengaluru-based band who does Hindi covers, were the victims of the abuse this time.

As per reports, they had just finished performing at an event on Friday when an inebriated man approached them. He demanded a Kannada song and the act obliged by singing/ playing it with their instruments unplugged. He further argued with them to plug in their instruments. When the band said that they have to check with the sound engineer, he attacked a member with a mic stand.

Another band member, Anubhav Siddharth, who tried to capture this on phone camera was targeted by a group of 10-15 men. They smashed his phone and attacked him, injuring him in the eye.

Bengaluru was in negative light recently because Kerala’s hip-hop crew Street Academics were stopped from finishing their set because they were singing in Malayalam.
