US-based company Knome, Inc. surprised rock and metal fans when they decided to study Ozzy Osbourne’s body. They wanted to investigate how his body took so many years of substance abuse. Nine years into their studies, the team has interesting revelations.

“Ozzy is indeed a genetic mutant,” is the conclusion that Bill Sullivan, arrives at in his new book, Pleased to Meet Me: Genes, Germs and the Curious Forces that Make Us Who We Are, as reported by various media houses.

The author is a professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The research team discovered that his body could withstand decades of alcohol and substance abuse because of a genetic variation.

The 70-year-old Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee is currently sober but is assumed to have taken drugs for nearly four decades. The rockstar has even made statements condemning the use of drugs in his later years of life.
