American singer Khalid, known for the chart topping hit Young, Dumb and Broke, comes to India early next year. The 21-year-old will perform in Mumbai on April 12 at Jio Gardens and Bengaluru on April 14 at Ozone Urbana as part of his Free Spirit Asia Tour.
The artist’s sound is primarily R&B, but with elements of pop, hip-hop and soul. He has cited Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Father John Misty, Frank Ocean, Grizzly Bear, Chance the Rapper, Lorde, India.Arie, and James Blake as influences. His albums include American Teen (2017) and Free Spirit (2019). When he write his breakthrough song, Young, Dumb and Broke, Khalid Robinson was just 19 and his song was deemed the voice of a generation.
This tour was announced just after the singer’s new single, Up All Night. Besides India, the Grammy-nominated artiste will also travel to Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Seoul.
The singer also tweeted: this is going to be my first time in India wowowow thank u guys!!!! (sic)
