After a hacker stole 18 hours worth of unreleased music from British-rock outfit Radiohead that was recorded during their peak creative period in the ’90s, the band decided to make the stolen tunes available for purchase online.

Guitarist Jonny Greenwood tweeted that about 18 hours of material from around the time of Radiohead’s 1997 album OK Computer was stolen from singer Thom Yorke’s minidisc archive last week. And the hacker had demanded $150,000 as ransom. Greenwood went on to say that the music was available for fans on Bandcamp and all proceeds from the release would go to Extinction Rebellion - an organisation fighting climate change.

The tweet read: “Instead of complaining—much—or ignoring it, we’re releasing all 18 hours on Bandcamp in aid of Extinction Rebellion. Never intended for public consumption (though some clips did reach the cassette in the OK Computer reissue) it’s only tangentially interesting.”

Fans can buy the music for $18 for the next 18 days.
