Electronic music duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike took the stage at the DVLM Sunburn Arena in Bengaluru this week and are headed to Hyderabad soon. The Belgian duo made waves with its songs Instagram, Mammoth and Complicated. Indulge catches up with the duo to chat about music, fans and the Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian collaboration.
Congratulations. You've just been voted World's Best DJs by DJ Mag. And you've moved from the 79th spot to number 1. How has the journey been so far?
Mike: Thank you. It feels really good to have the fans supporting us like this all over again!
Dimitri: It feels incredible. To do be voted World No.1 DJs twice is insane. We’re very grateful to the fans. It’s been a crazy and fun journey and we’ve still so much more to give.
How did the collaboration with Paris Hilton on the song, My B.F.A. (Best Friend's A**) come about?
Mike: We’re good friends with Paris and we’d been speaking about doing a track together for some time. So it was great we could finally make that happen. Getting Kim Kardashian to also feature in the video was just the icing on the cake!
Dimitri: Paris is amazing. She’s hard work, dedicated to any project she gets involved with and was so much fun to work with on this record.
What's been your most memorable collaboration yet?
Dimitri: They’re all very special in their own way. Seeing our latest big collaboration Instagram with David Guetta, Afro Bros, Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha crack more than 100 million Spotify streams was a really cool moment!
What is dream collaboration for you guys?
Mike: Travis Scott or Logic would be awesome.
