Hyderabad’s fusion band, Niraval’s keyboardist-singer Krishnan Ganesan made his debut with La La La for Telugu film, Meeku Maatrame Chepta.

“Singing in a feature film was not on the cards for me as I was pursuing live music with Niraval. But that was until I got a call from Naveen (George Thomas) asking for someone who can sing a Telugu track. Although I didn’t have a reference track for my voice back then, music director Sivakumar was humble enough to consider me after listening to a live track from one of my shows,” Krishnan shares.

While the song was composed by Sivakumar, the track also features singer Hemachandra Vedala.

“With some difficulty to get the lyrics pronunciation right, I managed to record the track in a tiny studio in Hyderabad accompanied by a couple of my Telugu speaking friends. It was a surprise that they finally liked my voice for the main lalala track and they planned to release it. I’m hoping this is a beginning of a new episode in my life,” he adds.

Produced by popular actor Vijay Deverakonda, the film is being directed by Shammeer Sultan and features director Tharun Bhascker, Naveen George Thomas and Anasuya Bharadwaj, among others.
