Game of Thrones fans in Hyderabad, listen up! One of the most loved characters from the fictional series, Hodor, played by Kristian Nairn, is set to perform at Prism Club & Kitchen, this weekend. While he is popular as Hodor, Kristian has been in the DJ circuit for more than 20 years. Understandably, fans can’t help but make the Hodor connection, even when he’s spinning house music. Ahead of his performance in the city, as a part of his popular Rave of Thrones music project, we catch up with the UK-born artiste. Excerpts:

We’re very excited to see you perform in India. What can fans expect from your Rave of Thrones Tour, here?
I’m also very excited to come back! I always have a great time when I’m in India. The show is now mostly my own music, and as I’ve just had a number one track in the trance chart, I’m going to be playing a lot of new stuff too, so it’ll be great to see how that goes.

When did you first work on this fully immersive GOT-themed club show?
I’m guessing it must be five or six years ago now. I definitely have a warped sense of time, so it’s hard for me to figure out, but I think it’s around 5/6.

Tell us about your initial experiences with music. When did you start DJing?
I’ve been in music all my life. I started playing the piano when I was very young, then guitar. I played in local bands for a while. I was always a bit of a club kid too back then, and I loved watching the DJ. That’s how I got into it. I started back in 1999, so that’s 20 years now!

In the last 20 years, you have worked with international artistes and at big festivals. How would you say your journey has been?
I always feel lucky that my journey has got me to where I am. I’m just happy that I get to share what I love doing.

How has life been post GOT, for you?
Busy! I thought that after my character died, things would start to get quieter, but it’s been the complete opposite. This year has been the busiest of my life so far.

What do you think about the final season of GOT, considering it received a lot of mixed responses from fans?
I loved it. I just wish it was a little longer with maybe a couple more episodes. But otherwise, I enjoyed it.

At Prism Club and Kitchen.
September 7, 8 pm.
