Here’s what we know about the casting of actress Lashana Lynch as the new 007 in the upcoming film Bond 25 

Reports state that her character's name as Nomi in Bond 25, the upcoming Bond film that is so far untitled. Rami Malek has signed on to portray the villain.

After reports in international media surfaced that British actress Lashana Lynch will be taking over the code name 007 code in the 25th Bond film, the female fans of the franchise was overjoyed to think that the next protagonist in the upcoming Bond movie could be a woman. However, we have garnered some clarity on this subject and now we know that while her character will share the same code name as James Bond, she is not a replacement for the titular hero but a new spy who takes over his secret agent number ‘007’ after he leaves MI6. The audience last saw Bond driving off with Madeleine Swann at the end of Spectre. Reports state that her character's name as Nomi in Bond 25, the upcoming Bond film that is so far untitled. Bond 25 stars Daniel Craig as James Bond, and have learnt that the film opens with him on a holiday in Jamaica when he gets a call from M, played by Ralph Fiennes, to get back to work. Lynch,  a graduate of the BA Acting course at ArtsEd drama school in London, was born in Hammersmith and is of Jamaican descent. The 31-year-old British actress was recently seen as Maria Rambeau, Captain Marvel's best friend. 

Now we all need to wait and watch how Bond reacts to his replacement. The movie is set to release in the summer of 2020.
