Since last Wednesday, social media has been all consumed by one name: IAF’s pilot Abhinandan Varthaman. Since his release from Pakistan custody on Friday, the Wing Commander has, perhaps, become the most talked about individual on prime time TV, as well as, in public discourse.

Following the viral video where Abhinandan was seen drinking tea, while calmly answering questions posed by Pakistani authorities, posts featuring the braveheart’s love for chai and his polite refusal to answer specific questions with: ‘I am not supposed to tell you this’ made its rounds on the internet.

However, love for the nation’s hero hasn’t quite died down just yet! Abhinandan's mix of a thin mutton chop beard and gunslinger moustache are the latest talk of the country. From fans who want the #AbhinandanMoustache to trend, to the Milk-Stache sported by the Amul Girl in an Ad that says Mooch Nahin Toh Kuchh Nahi, celebrating his moustache is another way of honouring the man.

“It won’t be wrong to say the beard sported by the IAF pilot will soon be called India’s very own Abhinandan style,” said Darshan Yewalekar, personal hairstylist to actor Ranveer Singh in another interview.

With Twitterati going gaga over the moustache and youngsters making a beeline to salons, we wouldn’t be too surprised if Abhinandan Varthaman’s moustache is India’s next styling sensation.
