Bengaluru girl, Shraddha Srinath, who has made a mark in the Kannada and Tamil film industries with films like U-Turn and Vikram Vedha, debuts in Bollywood with Milan Talkies. The film that releases this Friday stars Shraddha opposite Ali Fazal. Written and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film is set in a small town in India and captures the aspirations of people there. Ali’s character wants to be a filmmaker, while Shraddha’s character just wants to pass her final year exams.

“The name of my character is Mythili and she is very funny. It’s important for her to clear her exams because that is her prospective groom’s only demand. At this point, the hero enters her life and helps her pass. That’s how their love story begins,” explains Shraddha, who was in Bengaluru for a BBlunt event.

Though this is the first time she is working with Ali, the actress says they bonded well from the first day because of their love for food and music. “On day one of the shoot in Lucknow, Ali, who is from the city, brought kebabs made by his grandmother. He offered the kebabs to me and that’s how we broke the ice and became friends. We were so comfortable with each other and it shows onscreen,” says the actress who isn’t nervous about her first Hindi film.

“This movie means the world to me and I gave it my all. I am just a few films old but I don’t get that first day, first show nervousness. I am just excited.” Next, Shraddha will be seen in Telugu sports drama Jersey, which releases in April. Post that, she starts shooting for the Tamil remake of Pink and the Kannada film Rustum.
