Petta actress Malavika Mohanan has bagged the lead role in Vijay's upcoming film, Thalapathy 64. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is touted to be a gangster flick with Vijay Sethupathi playing the villain.
Thalapathy 64 has commenced with a customary pooja in Chennai with Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj along with the rest of the crew.
In an interview, the actress said that she was a huge fan of Vijay and that it is a big opportunity to act opposite him. "I am really excited because I am a huge fan of Vijay sir and I never really thought I will end up romancing him. It is a fabulous team and I am a fan of Lokesh, too. I have seen his Managaram and loved it. So, I am really looking forward to begin shooting with the team."
The Beyond The Clouds actress refrained from divulging more details about her role in Thalapathy 64. Calling it an 'interesting role,' she added, "This is a new role, something that I haven’t done before."
