It has been a glam-heavy week starting off with the launch of Page 3 Salon & Makeover Studio in Adyar. Doing the honours were Hollywood actor Adam Collins along with several special guests from the global fashion and beauty community. The list included designer Chirawan Lewis from Thailand, French actor Darren Immosi, international model Decca Agatha and award-winning fashion designer Ivan Doner. Not only did it make for an interesting mix and loads of great convo, but all of the guests were super excited to try out the services on offer. “When can we get started?” asked one of the guys, while everyone decided what sort of pampering they were in the mood for.

And not too far away at Park Hyatt Chennai, the glam quotient went up a couple of notches, with the launch of their new cocktail menu through a fashion showcase by Karun Raman. The runway was given a whole new meaning with the bar space being used in all sorts of creative ways. From the first sequence ‘Coyote Ugly’ which included the girls in crazy wigs, bare-chested male models and even a little chocolate sauce, to the finale ‘One Night in Paris’ where the models were dressed to match the signature cocktails. A little quiz also tested the audiences’ cocktail knowledge, with expat Jane Kataria rattling off the ingredients to a ‘Bloody Mary’ at light speed. Post the show; the crowd spent the rest of the evening on the dance floor, with DJ Prashanth at the helm.

While on the subject of spirits, whiskey connoisseurs had gathered at The Accord Metropolitan to experience the flavours of Scotland through an exquisitely curated culinary session. Diageo brand ambassador Asmani Subramanian shared the limelight with the guests of honour — some rather special single malts. The festive mood continued with various cake mixing ceremonies first at Prego at The Taj Coromandel and then Le Royal Meridien, in the lead up to Christmas. And to finish off the week, British Council Chennai hosted a dinner reception to celebrate 70 years of India-UK relations. The evening witnessed music performances by Mahesh Raghvan and Shravan Sridhar of Carnatic music 2.0.
