Now that Game of Thrones has finally ended, we can all breathe a big sigh of relief. I will be particularly glad not to have to rush to the TV every Monday morning, or even worse, try to dodge all the spoilers on social media all day long. While GoT fans may be feeling a sense of emptiness, we certainly had enough happening in the city to keep us busy.

Despite soaring temperatures, Style Bazaar at Hyatt Regency Chennai saw quite a crowd, with the ladies on the lookout for a festive wardrobe revamp. Across town, at Forum Vijaya Mall, Aishwarya Dutta and Yashika Aannand were doing the honours at the launch of a new menu at Salt, the Indian restaurant. Next up was the launch of the Spotrush app, which was celebrated with a cocktail party at The Park Chennai. It was a low-key soirée with several big wigs in attendance including diplomats, and members of the film and music fraternity.

Closing off the week was its biggest event, the wedding of Viju Mahtaney’s daughter, Sujata Mahtaney to Kartik Kapoor (at Park Hyatt, of course). Taking the term ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’ to the next level, was celebrity wedding planner Vandana Mohan, also responsible for both the Ambani and ‘DeepVeer’ weddings. Everything from international performers, to food by world-class chefs, all of it was spotted at the three-day extravaganza.
