Netflix has axed yet another one of their original productions, Santa Clarita Diet. The news comes as an obvious shock to fans of this Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant starrer, as the third season just started streaming on March 29.  Besides all the Disney-Marvel shows—which have been moved to Disney+—Sense8, Gypsy and The Get Down are some of the other recently canned originals.

The third season of the show will be its last. There is already a #SaveSantaClaritaDiet Twitter campaign raging on to complete the story of Sheila (Drew Barrymore), a real estate broker who transformed into a zombie.

A statement from Netflix reads: “The world had never known a 'zom-com' until Santa Clarita Diet, and we're indebted to creator Victor Fresco for bringing this idea to Netflix. To their endless credit, the incredible Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant were totally game, with an uncanny knack for comedy that brought Sheila and Joel Hammond to vibrant life, even though one of them was undead. We're grateful to Victor, Drew, and Timothy, along with fellow executive producers Tracy Katsky, Aaron Kaplan, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell and the terrific cast, including Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo, and crew for three hilarious seasons for Netflix members to discover for years to come."

Fans of the show are furious about the last-minute announcement and are kicking up a tweet-storm, as the show ended on a cliffhanger.
