Between being stuck in traffic and running around for work in our busy city, you might not think living sustainably is a luxury you can afford. But there is a quiet, eco-conscious network in  Bengaluru which strives to be that change. For every tree that is cut down, this unnamed force plants another to let the city breathe. Want to join forces to make a difference? Make your way down to The Arts Village at St. Mark’s Road today.

Earth Day Bengaluru, organized by Earth Day Network, is an event which will feature amazing workshops conducted by brands and organizations that are champions of environmental sustainability in their own fields, who will talk about their journey in pollution-free, less-plastic living and equip their audience with methods through which they themselves can bring about the change. These eco-warriors will speak about electric vehicles, solar-powered cars, slow fashion and veganism and millet-based diets and how their use can lead to a positive change in the condition of our Earth.

“We want to develop the idea of bringing the community together, and helping each other make Bengaluru a cleaner and greener space”, says Devina Srivastava, Organizer. Earth Day Bengaluru will be a pop-up style event with 20-25 stalls of different brands having speakers presenting through the day. A climate change short film will be screened as a fitting end to a day of enlightenment.

Some of the brands and organizations presenting are Plug In India (electric vehicles and charging stations), Millet Mama (local, vegan cooking), EcoSoch (solar rooftop panels), Desi Trust (organic clothing) and Studio Ataash (pottery, paintings and organic art). There will be workshops on Waste Management, Bamboo Straw Making and Composting, amongst others.

A day-long event, Earth Day Bengaluru will be a fulfilling experience for anyone who wishes to switch to sustainable living and learn more about everyday methods to achieve it. The Arts Village is a quaint space, away from the hustle of the city, which provides people with an environment to explore themselves.

At The Arts Village, April 22. 10:30 am to 07 pm
