The annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is back, and like every year, all proceeds will go towards raising awareness about prostate cancer and suicide. In association with Triumph Motorcycles, the goal for 2018 is raising five million US dollars for research and programmes. While focusing on a social cause, the ride also celebrates motorcycles and the art of being dapper. In Chennai, the ride which first started in Australia is being hosted for the fifth consecutive year by city-based motorcycling enthusiasts Prateek and Sarthak Darolia.“When we first started the DGR, it was only 20 motorcyclists, it has increased over time. This year, an astounding 600 riders who have registered for it,” says Prateek. While the ride is for men's health, it is also open for women riders in the city. Even though the ride is held by Triumph, all kinds of bikes and riders can participate in the ride. The riders are expected to wear a strict dress code of classic sunglasses, formals, waistcoats and polished shoes too.
