HIGH on glitz, glamour and high-end events – the week gone by had all of it and more. Last Friday, actor Rahul Bose, dropped by to catch up with the cinephiles and promote his latest flick Poorna: Courage Has No Limit which chronicles the life of a young tribal girl from Telangana who fights all odds to become the youngest girl in history to reach the summit of Mount Everest. The film was screened at Annapurna Preview Theatre, where actress Aditi Inamdar who plays the protagonist, Poorna, was also present along with the latter. Now, we shall cut to possibly the biggest event of last week. Two of the country’s top fashion designers, Neeta Lulla and Gaurang Shah, dressed a bunch of well-known socialites from the city in their creations, at the fashion show organised by The Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan. The regal backdrop of Chowmahalla Palace, the splendour of the two beautiful showstoppers – T’town diva Pragya Jaiswal for Lulla and Kuchipudi danseuse Raju for Shah – made it a show that audience of over a thousand people won’t forget anytime soon. Iqbal Patni’s poetry worked like a charm and the crowd which was present watched with rapt attention.
Meanwhile, over at Begumpet, single malt lovers headed to a five-course dinner hosted by ITC Kakatiya and Glenfiddich, ostensibly the world’s most awarded single malt. The guests were guided by master connoisseur and whiskey ambassador, Anand Virmani from Delhi who was quite a hit at the interactive session. The guests were captivated by his knowledge of single malts and walked away from the venue with satisfied tastebuds post the sumptuous dinner.
Right next door, by the poolside, a sundowner party by the name Sundaze saw dressed down party-goers enjoying lip-smacking food and cocktails. A pop-up flea market and good musicians ensured wholesome entertainment for all those present. Deejays Pearl, Murthovik, Vinayaka, and musician Arpit Chourey ensured the guests had a musical end to the week.
