The brand’s intricate embroidery, modern styling and minimalist bent give the label its edge. Their new festive/bridal line-up Nawaazish is all about breezy drama and we got Team Verse to tell us what exactly is so unique about the collection:

Tell about Verse’s new winter festive collection

The Winter-festive collection by Verse is an amalgamation of traditional and contemporary emotions. The collection is inspired by motifs and embroidery that showcase Indian aesthetics with an ancestry-focused sensibility, in the most opulent fabrics with complementary silhouettes and immaculate tailoring.

How has your focus on embroidery helped the label?

We have always wanted to give people value for their money, which is why we focus on embroidery as it is the richness of the hand-embroidery that adds the element of value to our numbers and they stand out because of its meticulous detailing.

What are millennial brides looking for when they shop?

Today, brides are looking to stand out and be unique in their own way. So when they come in to shop they do have a mind of their own but at the same time they also want to keep their traditions alive. So they are going for different hues with classic motifs and embroidery.

Tell us a little about your clientele. How have they evolved in the last few years?

Our clients are now educated in fashion and women know exactly what works for them, so definitely that has made a lot of room for designer labels like us to play with colours, embroidery, and motifs.

How has Kolkata’s approach to luxury couture fashion changed?

Kolkata being the best wedding shopping destination, has gradually moved ahead with the luxury fashion keeping in mind the changing trends but not deviating from the traditional touch especially when it comes to bridal wear.

What are some of your bestsellers when it comes to bridal fashion?

Our best sellers are the lehengas with intricate embroidery of zardosi and French knot in contemporary motifs, in hues of reds and pastels. When it comes to gowns the heavy embroidery with different motifs and sequence detailing with boning gives an edge to the numbers.
