There are very few labels which let the younger crop venture out of the dated festive dressing memo, especially when it comes to bridal fashion. Avama Jewellers, is definitely one of them. Preferred by leading fashionistas, the brand which only started in 2017, fast became a go-to destination for millennial festive shopping owing to its spectacular curation of wearable and interesting traditional jewellery. Needless to say, the label's newest bridal collection is all about chic, desi elegance with a modern edit.

Avama Jewellers is of course, known for its stunning polki and diamond numbers, and has also made way for an impressive range of sophisticated temple jewellery, which are quite unique than usually found in other fine jewellery line-ups. In fact, Avama owner tells us the need for contemporary wearability is always the focus behind the brand's designs.

“Our bridal line-up features several versatile pieces; in fact most of these numbers can be re-adjusted and teamed up with western apparel. For instance, we have some really great chokers which can be attached to a droopy chain to make it more embellished. Or could be used as a standalone statement. It's so multifaceted and people love it. Besides polki and diamonds, antique gold is also pretty huge right now, especially interesting embellishments with minakari work or kundan detailing is a huge draw. We also have some temple motifs on some our wedding collection this year, which always do well,” Abhishek Kajaria, of Avama Jewellers, tells us.

The brand, which boasts of a starry clientele, does not just rely on age-old ethnic designs but has blazed through newer paths for bridal bling with its exceptional mix of traditional elements and chic, contemporary finish. Take their navratna collection, for instance - the range features gorgeous, coloured stones set in a distinctly stylised design. The unique dangling ruby pendant and polki detailing enhances the silhouette, and it can easily make for the centrepiece of your ensemble on the D-day.

“Our navratna collection is actually very popular, especially with brides. We are playing with more stones and polkis than usual and adding in some interesting motifs. And this is also the time when people do want to splurge, so besides the brides, even the family members are willing to spend on,” Abhishek informs us. Avama Jewellers has also acquired renown for its stylised edits on ethnic designs and age-old concepts which have served them well in the festive fashion circuit as their numbers are also very Instagrammable.

“I do think heavier jewellery is coming back, as we get so many young clients who are looking for heavy-set pieces, with a contemporary edge. People realise that you can't go for one-time wear pieces, they want to wear it even after their wedding,” adds Abhishek.
