The Armoire hosts the designer duo behind Outhouse at a one-day showcase in Chennai

It has been seven years since sisters Kaabia and Sasha Grewal launched their jewellery brand Outhouse. And over the years, the designer duo has garnered an ever-growing clientele that include the likes of Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra among others. Having slotted themselves quite high among the list of jewellery brands from the country to look out for, Outhouse is now shifting focus to other luxury verticals. To this end, the brand recently launched a series of jewel-encrusted handbags as part of their OH Series. Debuting this collection in Chennai, along with limited pieces from Jardin De Paradis, Wildflower, Imago Enchanted and Borla, the brand will be part of a one-day pop-up hosted by The Armoire at Amethyst.

High five

Revisiting the brand’s mainstay emblems like the stallion head, charcoal grey Kaputt crystal designed by Jean Paul Gautier, Imago butterflies, flutter wing and onyx dragonfly, the OH V line (one part of the OH Series) features these five motifs that have defined the brand’s previous collections. “The Monogram edition, on the other hand, sports the brand’s OH logo. We have introduced bejewelled bags into this range, apart from the handcrafted 22K gold-plated chokers, necklaces, earrings, and rings,” says Kaabia, explaining that the collection marks the brand’s entry into the luxury handbag segment. 

Little wonder

Embracing the micro bag trend, we learn that this line of mini handbags come with detachable straps and can easily be transformed from a belt, shoulder or crossbody bag into a clutch. “The idea behind the design was to create a bag that could transition from day to night and was functional at the same time,” she says, adding that the removable strap can be styled as a leather bracelet. 

On her pick of key pieces from the line, Kaabia chooses the OH Monogram leather bracelet that has a 22K gold-plated geometric lip motif. “Another favourite that I’d like to highlight is the vegan leather OH V Noir Quilted Bag that is studded with Swarovski crystals and sports the OH Monogram.”

Seaside story

Designer duo Shivan Bhatiya and Narresh Kukreja of the brand Shivan & Narresh will also be part of the pop-up showcasing two of their older holiday wear collections. Look out for the Eden skeinwork bikini sari with noir fringed pants from the EdoMer collection and the coal sheer boudoir skein 
lehenga and bustier that is part of the Dravidan Gond Art inspired collection titled the Koi Series.
