If you've spotted Virat Kohli and Co. lugging about some very polished leather bags as a part of the Indian team’s World Cup entourage and you’re curious to know where you can pick up one for yourself, we have you covered. The premium leather shoes and accessories brand Brune has teamed up with the BCCI for the World Cup’s 2019 edition, and their impeccably bespoke collection has earned its right as the preferred travelling gear for the entire Indian team. The line consists of 110 bags (55 duffles and 55 backpacks) in a trendy yellow tan shade. We recently spotted MS Dhoni carrying a super suave tan duffel, and Virat flaunting a stunning backpack in the same colour, both thanks to Brune.

Interestingly, the yellow tan goes really well with the dark blue colour sported by the Indian players. Moreover, the brand’s formal yellow tan shoes were worn by the entire team at an official dinner and ambassador meet in Wales recently. Brune, which first rolled out its line in 2015, is an online platform, which aims to capture a wearable and classic style with its line of leather accessories and shoes. The brand offers a range of formal shoes from Oxfords, brogues, tassels to monk strap. They also have a range of bags, including duffles, trolleys, backpacks, messenger bags to laptop briefcases. The brand has set new benchmarks for surpassing latest technologies in the fashion industry and made it to the favourites list of many high-profile celebrities.

“We wanted to create high-quality leather to serve the urbane market. Brune had a vision to create super elegant products in lively, vibrant and classic hues in 100 per cent genuine leather. That’s how the hand art-crafting method and patina finish came into the picture. We prefer this technique, as it creates any shade, and controls the high-low of the colour. We never wanted to restrict our collection to only browns and blacks. This is one of the oldest techniques used in Italian shoe making, and is also used by brands like Berluti and Magnani,” Tabby Bhatia, founder of Brune, tell us.

Bhatia also tells us that this method helps to fill the gap between work fashion and millennial-approved daily wear. We were, of course, interested to know how the World Cup collaboration came about, and Bhatia spilt the beans. “It all started last year, when we showcased our products at an event, where the team got to see our creations first-hand. Being available online exclusively, we really miss the chance to showcase our collection directly, and connect better. However, we feel blessed that through that event, our connect with the team got stronger, and they allowed us to offer them our exquisite formal shoe collection as well, for the England tour. Then and there, we decided and set ourselves to serve our handcrafted genuine leather products for the World Cup 2019 tour,” says Bhatia. He also informs us that Brune’s customised kit consists of a duffle bag, a backpack and a pair of shoes — all in the yellow-tan shade; each kit is designed with the custom initials of each team player.

The basic Brune range starts from Rs 2,999 and goes up to Rs 29,999.
