“The anarkalis can also be styled as dresses, depending on the occasion you are wearing it for,” says the designer, who has worked with ace fashion designer Anju Modi. One glance through her lookbook and a few designs immediately catch our eye. For instance, we like the powder blue cotton dress with a Peter Pan collar and resham embroidery detailing. The front buttons offer a perfect mix of chic and edgy to this Indo-Western design.

The pastel hues she has worked with such as old rose, steel grey, powder blue, lilac, peach, and ivory enhance the dreamy element of her outfits. The motifs that are etched out on the ensembles include floral embroidery, often done with scrap metal with antique finish. “I have also worked with gathers and layers, often with an A-line cut to make the ankle-length dresses more wearable,” says Shubhda.
