Heads Up For Tails X Shivan and Narresh
Heads Up For Tails X Shivan and Narresh

Shivan & Narresh collaborate with Heads Up For Tails to create a designer wardrobe for pets

Having dressed the likes of Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Kim Kardashian, Shivan & Narresh are on a new path of design — prêt for pets.

From pioneering the concept of resort wear for the Indian market to creating revolutionary garments like the mastectomy blouse, designer duo Shivan Bhatia and Narresh Kukreja have been constantly pushing the envelope of design since the inception of their brand in 2010. Close to a decade later, after
having dressed the likes of Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Kim Kardashian, the brand is on a new path of design — prêt for pets.

It was a case of puppy love when the duo met Narresh’s sister’s indie rescue named Matisse. “Both Shivan and I have been obsessed with Matisse and it pushed us to work towards to creating apparel for him without thinking about establishing a separate category and expanding our luxury holiday lifestyle brand,” offers Narresh, telling us that Matisse had been sporting Shivan & Narresh dog leashes and collars long before the collaboration with Heads Up For Tails was even on the cards.

A 26-piece collection that includes embellished and printed collars, embossed leashes, printed sweatshirts, jackets, bowties, bandanas, mattresses, blankets, and tipis, the mood-board for the project was inspired by the colour blocking techniques that are synonymous with the works of Fernand Leisure. “As pet parents, we always wanted our dogs to have the same decadent holiday and travel lifestyle that we live as millennials. Allowing owners to twin with their  pet, the collection is enveloped in Leger print from our Leger Leisure Series that matches with the polo shirts, kaftans and swimwear from the brand.”

With this completely vegan line made from PU, rayon and quilted sheeter, the duo also hope to spread the HUFT's ‘Adopt Not Shop’ initiative as part of their collaboration. “Our affection towards pets was given a new creative dimension with Heads up For Tails onboard,” he explains.
As for their newer collections, the duo is set to release a winter holiday line that uses fabrics like 100 per cent cashmere, merino wool, sheeter, leatherite, and foil. All this, while working on their 10th-year anniversary collection that will launch in March 2020.
