A FEW years ago, it looked like international high street brands couldn’t set up in Indian cities fast enough. Now, it seems, it’s the turn of make-up and skin care giants. While Sephora made its foray into India years ago, the past year or so has seen names like Innisfree, Bath and Body Works, Klara Cosm-etics and Huda Beauty entering the country and sparking off a beauty revolution of sorts. Kiko Milano, an Italian make-up brand, is the latest to open its doors in Bengaluru.

Taking cues from Milan, the city of its birth, the Kiko aesthetic is concentrated on art, fashion and design. Think vibrant hues, attention to texture and innovative packaging. Their products also take into consideration the latest beauty trends, to keep even the most hardcore beauty junkie hooked. “The products are created to satisfy the requirements of women of any age,” says Annanya Sabarwal, Country Director for Kiko Milano India, of the brand that was founded by Stefano Percassi in 1997.

Promising a skin- and environment-friendly range of products that are paraben-free, and devoid of plastic microbeads, and aggressive preservatives, they are known for their comprehensive inventory of shades, whether it comes to lipstick, nail polish or eye shadow. “Some of our bestsellers are the Velvet Passion Matte lipstick, Smart Cult Eyeshadow Palette, Water Eyeshadow, Unlimited Double Touch and the Full coverage 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer,” reveals Annanya.

Currently also available online through Nykaa and Myntra, the new store at Phoenix Marketcity boasts mauve walls and cream counters with the instantly recognisable Kiko logo on the facade.
