Neutral hues are big this season and are wardrobe must-haves! And if you have been contemplating getting on the nude-hued train this season, designers Shivangi Bajpai and Neha Sharma of the label Pinessaa have something in store. The latest collection, Skinn, of the Delhi-based label celebrates all the nude undertones. A few days ago, they launched this collection at the multi-designer store, Talasha, in Hyderabad. The designers, who have dressed actress Nushrat Bharucha and T’town star Niharika Konidela closer home, say that it is their way of celebrating every skin tone.

Understated elegance
One of the first things we notice about Skinn is a definite sophistication, courtesy the regal layers. Lighter and medium tones of nude together create an interesting colour progression and add depth to the layers. The silhouettes are minimal; either the neckline or the sleeves stand out. They have some rather risqué yet elegant cuts. Neha says, “With women of diverse complexions around us, it’s very important to understand how not to end up with a nude ensemble that appears rasping with our skin.” Shivangi, adds that keeping that in mind, she and Neha have created medium tone, pink or yellow tones to suit everyone. “Undoubtedly every skin colour can rock the nude look with just a correct pick,” informs the graduate of National Institute of Fashion Technology.

Choosing chinai
The fabrics that have been used include organza, Dutch satin, glaze cotton, georgette, crepe and raw silk. The collection has drawn its inspiration from the fact that ‘Every skin colour is absolutely beautiful’, giving the range its characteristic shade palette, varying from dark brown to beige and whites.

The patterns have been artfully adorned by chinai embroidery, which the designers mention is a dying stitching technique. “We wanted to include this craft from the regions of Surat and Ahmedabad and bring it back in vogue,” says Neha. From the collection, one can shop for skirts and tunics, trail flowy gowns, pants and crop tops, sheer jackets with experimental silhouettes.

Rs 10,000 onwards.
