Designers all over the world are riding the collaboration wave; as Victoria Beckham x Target’s  spring line is dominated by bright solids and gingham, Zayn x Versus goes the grunge route with zipper and lace-up detailing. Closer home, here is our pick of Indian designer collaborations to watch out for this season.

Pretty in Pastel
Fizzy Goblet x Payal Singhal

From sneakers to Brogues, Laksheeta Govil’s Mumbai-based Fizzy Goblet turns the traditional Punjabi jutti into a chic statement for every occasion. Featuring nature-inspired prints by designer Payal Singhal, Fiori Felici marks the second collaboration between the duo since their 2016 festive collection. Constructed with leather, leatherette and a combination of digitally printed fabrics, the juttis also have a handcrafted touch with delicate hand embroidery and surface embellishment with beads and pearls. The velvet and silk details in a palette dominated by pinks, appliquéd onto the pale blue, light grey and white surfaces draw inspiration from pressed roses and clear skies. But what makes each piece truly unique are quotes you’ll find written in metallic gold on the insoles. “Quotes like ‘dance from your soul’ and ‘seeker of everyday magic’ are a like a secret note for the wearer,” says Laksheeta. The juttis transition from
traditional to casual effortlessly, and are best worn with dresses, according to Laksheeta herself.

Dapper Duke
SS HOMME x Bombay Shirt Company

Returning after their 2015 wedding line, The SS HOMME for BSC, 2017 Edition offers a blend of Mumbai-based SS HOMME's clean-cut aesthetic and BSC’s concept of affordable luxury. Built for the man who’s on the move, the line features jackets and bandis in linens, wools and jersey cotton, making them comfortable for extended wear. “It is aimed at being functional with distinctive designs such as a jacket with a detachable waistcoat and reversible bandis,” says Sandeep Gonsalves, co-founder of SS HOMME, who adds that with classic colours like beige, burgundy and shades of grey, the collection promises comfort, durability and effortless panache. We have our eyes on the mint-green side-button bandi that looks great over a white shirt. Add a pop of colour with a pocket-square to complete the look.

Jackets are priced Rs.18,000 onwards, bandis Rs.9,000 onwards. Available at Kalaghoda, Mumbai. Details: 022 40043455

Floral fusion
Nete X Doodlage

Sustainability and exclusivity intersect at Geometry of Flowers, the collaborative Summer 2017 collection by Nete.in and Doodlage. Featuring garments made entirely of leftover fabric from mass production facilities, the capsule collection has dresses, skirts, tops, pants and sets all made from lightweight cotton. “We have used end-of-the-line fabrics and industrial scraps enough to make not more than five or six  pieces per style,” says Kriti Tula, founder of Delhi-based Doodlage. The collection that draws inspiration from the Golden Ratio, and the balance of geometry around us, features stripes, checks and florals with a heavy art deco influence. Look out for the tie trench set—a floral print tie trench worn over a striped organic cotton shirt and pleated pants, and the floral striped dress with black and white stripes, hidden pockets and light hued flowers.

Available on nete.in. Priced Rs.2,800 onwards.
