Celebrate this Gandhi Jayanthi with Arture's Bapu wallets

Inspired and moved by the idea to bring back Gandhiji (Bapu) into the cashless economy, Chennai based brand Arture has come up with a series of handmade, vegan wallets with a modern minimalistic icon of Bapu, embossed onto the card pockets. "The intent is that this becomes a new way for youngsters and millennials, who are adapting faster to the cashless economy, to embrace Gandhi and what he stood for in a whole new way," says Shivani Patel, co-founder of Arture along with Keshsa Vasant.

Known for its wallets made out of cork, the eco-friendly brand Arture has done this in partnership with Dentsu Webchutney, Bangalore. The initiative has been launched today on social media with a film that will explain the entire idea behind it. A part of the proceeds from these wallets will go in support of Gandhi foundations across the country.

"Not only do we want this campaign to raise awareness, but we want to make a meaningful difference. Arture is partnering with the VISWA MANAV SEWA ASHRAM in Bihar, to whom a portion of our profits from the Bapu wallets will be donated," adds Shivani.

Apart from this, customers can pick from one of two Bapu icons designed by Arture, or create a minimalist icon of their own. On social media  Arture will be inviting the artists and designers to come up with beautiful, artistic representations of Gandhi, making the process more democratic. The best design to emerge from this will be turned into the third icon option that you can buy for your wallet.
