Hard Rock Cafe is back with its widely popular limited-time ‘Infused With Love’ menu which features a range of adventurous alcohol-infused numbers. Since, Hard Rock’s menu has always balanced the line between easy and fine dining with their focus on globally relevant comfort food and economical platters, the new menu which arrives just in time for your Puja binging, also comprises some very interesting pairings.

The menu will be available at Park Street’s Hard Rock Cafe till October 27, and has some very hearty and well-curated items, ideal for family-style dining as the portions are surprisingly generous. Since, everything on the new menu has been infused with booze, a lot of thought has been put into fine-tuning the recipes which riskily bring together unlikely flavours.

Take the ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’, for instance. An aptly named spiced rum with a citrusy base; if you scoff at the thought of a fruity rum, this tropical blend can make you rethink your go-to drink order. Same goes for the Espresso Martini - a safer alternative, as coffee liqueur and vodka go exceptionally well together, and the brewed espresso only makes the density more interesting.

But if given a choice, we’d pay very good money for the Blackberry Sparkling Sangria; featuring an intense signature blend of red wine, cranberry juice and a very well-balanced dose of blackberries. The drink is topped with hints of orange and sparkling wine which counteracts the full-bodied flavour with its breeziness.

But the main draw in the menu is obviously the booze-infused food; the Mezcal Shrimp Ceviche, a citrus-marinated dish with an impressive flavour expansion features even-sized shrimps tossed into an easy gravy infused with hints of tequila. Its aroma has a complex earthiness to it, and we had to polish off an entire serving just to get to the root of its recipe. It’s essentially a quick-fix for the Chipotle and tequila nights you crave.

The Mojo Marinated Steak has a distinct but subtle woody aftertaste, courtesy the rum-infused mojo sauce. The meat was succulent, prepped with adequate bell peppers and tomatoes and served over a beautiful Mexican rice pilaf; in short, the meat-lover’s ideal all-season entree.

The Margarita Chicken Quesadila is a grilled chicken dish infused with tequila and lime, and prepared with two kinds of melted cheese, cheddar and Monterey Jack, the latter bring a denser variant. It’s served with the perfect Mexican accompaniments, a black bean and corn salad and guacamole ranch.

You’ll also find a Bourbon-Infused BBQ Shrimp, served with some funky sriracha mac and cheese; the coming together of bourbon-infused barbecue sauce and the exotic Thai sriracha is superb. The Rum-Marinated Chicken Skewers are a safe bet, marinated with coconut rum and house spices; it’s served with a taut cilantro pesto, and a coconut rice pilaf. For dessert, the menu has a sizeable Banana Foster Sundae, with a buttery pound cake base and is prepped with caramelised bananas and quite a bit of whipped cream and of course, ice cream. Price for Two: Rs 2,000
