About 45 countries around the world boast of hosting this unique experience in the sky. And now in Bengaluru, India’s first Fly Dining restaurant is creating a buzz.

We headed out on a pleasant Sunday evening for the sunset session to House of Life where the Fly Dining restaurant is set up. The dining table for 22, resembles a spaceship with its flashing lights. It is suspended from a crane and diners are fastened to the chairs with multiple straps for safety.

Once everyone was strapped, we started ascending slowly. Before we realised, we were at a height of 160 feet! The orange dusky sky on the left, the glittering skyline of Bengaluru on the right, and the calm Lumbini Lake behind us, all of this together made a perfect backdrop for our mid-air meal.

The first dish from the set menu was a Bruschetta paired with a lemon mocktail. What surprised us is how quickly the chef and his team of two managed to put this together and plated it with perfection. The herb seasoning was on point and the mocktail had the right balance of lemon and mint. The next dish served was a plate of Arancini. The crispy outer layer and the stuffed mushy risotto were finger-licking good.

Between snacking, we also posed for pictures and videos shot by the crew. Though a limited menu is on offer, the team from Sky Lounge India, the company which has brought this concept to India in association with its international counterpart dinner in the sky. com, says they will be introducing a more elaborate meal from December this year.

Rs 3,999 upwards per person. At Nagwara Junction
