Prism Club & Kitchen at Gachibowli has one of the biggest dance floors in Hyderabad.

When Rabz, the in-house DJ walks into the dance floor of Prism Club & Kitchen, he instantly gets half hugs, fist bumps and ‘brilliant-bro’ in return for the mind-blowing music he just dished out. That speaks volumes about his playlist at this upscale pub in the tech zone of the city. A Hyderabadi who previously played for Todd Night Club and is an expert in electro and techno, DJ Rabz says their Holi Bash in March introduced the ‘real party scene’ to the city. “We opened three months ago and can claim to have the best dance floor in the twin cities. Prism is listed among the ‘Top 50 Clubs Across the World’ by DJANE Mag. Most of the five-acre space on which Prism is built is dedicated to dance, music and drinks.”

Considering the place was packed (outdoor lounger, around the bar counter and dance floor) on a Wednesday night and the crowd was going berserk shaking a leg under the beamers which kept dropping shafts of light over the clubbers, Prism, true to its name, seemed like it was emanating radiance all across. The three-level bar and kitchen have a capacity to host 1,800 partygoers, Rabs informs us. Although spotty connectivity left most of the partygoers disappointed as they could not broadcast their fun in real time to their friends, the bar team managed to keep them engaged with what’s come to be known as ‘flair bartending’. The team of four juggled, flipped and flamed in quick succession to awe all of us.

After the heavy-duty dancing comes binge eating and drinking and Executive Chef Shankar presents us Prism’s signature food. We start with Peach Schnapps Cocktail, a sweetish, yet strong fruit based liqueur. He warns it’s deceptively strong and first-timers should watch out for, before bingeing. The sweetness definitely masked the liquor and when paired with Burmese Roll (cheese, chilli flakes, water chestnut and corn rolled into a roll), a really delicious spring roll with a yummy sweet dip, the cocktail tasted even better. A sure shot way to get a quick high coupled with the music playing around. Shankar then treated us to Prism’s special Farmer’s Chicken Pizza which had vegetable juliennes and egg whites along with chicken nuggets on the soft base. Cooked well and with a generous layer of mozzarella, this one is ideal if you are starving after spending a few hours on the dance floor. They also had regulars such as Choco Truffle in the dessert section (sweet and creamy with a great topping of choco chips), I chose to give it as skip as music and energy from the dance floor was more tempting. After all, I can get a Choco Truffle anywhere, not the dance floor rated among the Top 50 in the world!

Price: Rs.1,200.
