Powered by a Swedish deep green tech company Exeger's Powerfoyle technology, JBL has created self-charging headphones. Battery life is the Achilles heel of all wireless tech and this green solution has essentially rewritten the game. Currently available on crowdfunding platform IndieGogo as a prototype, the Harman brand will soon be rolling out what they are calling Reflect Eternal.
Currently available in Green and Red, these over-ear headphones will use Exeger’s groundbreaking light charging material that transforms natural and artificial light into free, sustainable energy. This pretty much means you can use it indoors and outdoors and the can will constantly be charging: NO MORE BATTERY ANXIETY. The Harman brand claims that if you spend at least 2.5 outdoors or in a well-lit indoor setup the headphones will stay charged for upwards of 168 hours!
These aren’t headphones for audiophiles though, especially because it doesn't offer active noise cancellation. As they simply offer 40mm drivers to create the signature JBL sound within a dynamic range of 20Hz-20kHz. However, these wire-free, self-charging devices do come with a handy set of features:
