After three console generations, the latest Microsoft gaming platform is here. The design of Xbox Series X, unlike the previous generation Xbox One console’s, looks more like a tower PC that is designed to be used in both vertical and horizontal orientations. It will have a custom-designed CPU based on AMD’s Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture. Microsoft is also using an NVMe SSD on Xbox Series X, which promises a boost in the load time. The Xbox Series X will support 8K gaming, frame rates of up to 120 fps in games, ray tracing, and better refresh rate support.

The Xbox series X is going to have a dramatic upgrade from the Xbox One base console, with over eight times the GPU power of the Xbox One, and two times what an Xbox One X is. The device will also support previously sold accessories, such as the Xbox Adaptive Controller for disabled gamers.

And yes, with a new console, comes a new controller. The size and shape of the next-generation Xbox Wireless Controller has been developed to accommodate an even wider range of people. It features a new Share button for quickly capturing screenshots, gameplay clips and also takes inspiration from the Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller for an improved d-pad design. The Wireless Controller will ship with all Xbox Series X consoles, and will also be compatible with Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

The Chief of Xbox division, Phil Spencer says that the Xbox Series X is the fastest and most powerful console ever built by the company. A trailer for  Hellblade II Senua's Saga was shown during the event.

Although the device is touted to come during the next holiday season the date has not yet been mentioned.
