Sometimes an indulgent massage with exotic ingredients flown in from different corners of the world simply doesn’t cut it. Such occasions demand a visit to the spa at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore, which recently introduced a range of treatments from the renowned Gemology Paris, which incorporates precious stones into their products. It was after years of in depth research that Chrystelle Lannoy launched Gemology Paris, in 2007.
The first to make cosmetics and skincare essentials that use precious stones such as rubies, sapphires and diamonds, they also offer full body massages. At The Ritz though, the treatments are limited to their Precious Skincare Facials and Signature Skincare facials.
We opt for the White Pearl Skin Care treatment from their range of Signature Facials. Our therapist preps us for the facial by removing our eye make-up with the Malachite Eye Make-up Remover, and clean-sing our skin with the Bijou Narce Face Makeup Remover — a milky cleanser that turns into water on contact with skin. The Pearl De Gommage, a scrub made with pearls and crystal trace elements is then used to remove dead skin and enhance elasticity, radiance and smoothness. This is followed by the application of the Blue Amber Cleaner, a gel that turns to mousse when it comes in contact with water. It removes excess sebum.
The Rose Quartz Toner, for smooth and radiant skin, is applied next. Next up is the Pearl and Mg Serum, designed to erase dark spots. Then, our therapist gives us a massage with the Mineral Face Massage Cream. This is intensely relaxing and rejuvenating. The Gemstone Massage follows and we are in a state of bliss. One of their signature steps, this involves the use of precious stones such as Pink Quartz, Rock Crystal and Agate. After a few more masks are applied, we are treated to the White Pearl Serum, a velvety gel that is enriched with White Pearl, Vitamin C and Vitamin B3, which lightens skin and gives it a porcelain-like finish. The final step is the application of a sunscreen that incorporates white pearl, Vitamin C and Bisabolol that protect skin and stimulates collagen. We are in a state of complete relaxation as we get dressed and looking in the mirror, we can already see the difference. Dullness has been replaced with glowing and healthy-looking skin.
