The Academy Award-Winning actor Jeremy Irons who has given us hits like Watchmen, Die Hard with a Vengeance, The House of The Spirits takes charge of The Hope Foundation as it’s ambassador.

Known for his philanthrophic ahievements, Irons who is a patron of the Prison Phoenix Trust, a charity registered in England that offers help to prisoners through the disciplines of meditation and yoga, says, “Merely talking of change is not enough. We need to ensure that our children remain healthy and girls do not have to miss school. I am very happy and excited to be a part of Hope Foundation. Every child in this world is special and Hope Foundation is doing a great job by helping these underprivileged children.”

The grand announcement at Hotel Hindusthan International was attended by Anik Dutta, Tollywood Director. An interactive session later saw Irons share some inspiring tales to help underprivileged children in achieving their career goals and dreams in life. Maureen Forrest, Founder and Director, Hope Foundation, further added, “The children of The Hope Foundation share a strong bond with Jeremy Irons.  He is not only multitalented but also multifaceted. He also has the power to influence change. He is a very approachable person with a human heart."

Hope Foundation was set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girl’s home. It is now a registered Irish Charity with offices in Ireland, India, the UK, Germany and the USA. Hope operates over 60 projects in and around Kolkata through 13 local implementation partner organisations.
