It's official! Bath & Body Works to launch their first store in Chennai at Express Avenue

Tell us about this launch and how long it's been in the works. 

A store launch is a more than a 6 months long activity, with selecting the right mall, location and finalizing the store plan to implementing the store fixtures and product plan, VM. This store is our first in Chennai at Express Avenue Mall that is centrally located in the city. We have gone all out with massive first-hand customer experience zone, radio, print ads for the launch. So far we have received a grand welcome from the city and the excitement is building up towards our launch date 15^th June’ 19 with the store opening at 2 pm.

What kind of products will be on display here and will this be in tandem with the new launches that happen internationally?

 Bath & Body Works is one of the world’s leading specialty retailers of fashion fragrances for body and home. Today the specialty retailer sells its own branded product lines with Signature Collection, White Barn and Bath & Body Works Home Fragrances, Hand Soaps and Sanitizers. Bath and Body Works also offers additional beauty brands including Aromatherapy and True Blue Spa. Bath & Body Works products are available in more than 1,800 around the world. The collection on display will be all-time International No.1 fragrance Japanese Cherry Blossom & No.2 fragrance A Thousand Wishes, along with these the new fragrance launches on board are Rose, AT Rose Vanilla, Mad About You. The product categories are Mist, Body lotion, Shower Gel & Body Scrub. These are new fragrance launches for India and are timed to suit our weather.

Tell us about your decision to launch a store in Chennai, before Bangalore as that seems like the case with regard to most brands today. 

Chennai is an upcoming city with a great mix of cosmopolitan crowd. And we looked at the opportunity to tap this city with two stores on in Express Avenue launching on 15^th June and with the second store in VR Mall launching Mid July.

What do you hope for from Chennai as a market?

 It’s a great market for beauty & essentials and we see attraction for Bath & Body Works, from the date of announcing the launch we have been flooded with inquiries on social media. We have understood Chennai’s weather and are launching the right set of fragrances which will surely captivate the market. Also, we would be introducing fresh fragrances every 2 months to keep our customers excited.
